Erikson Recognized At CMU's Division Of Science, Math, And Computer Science Honor Awards

Central Methodist University student Makenzie Erikson, from Independence, Mo., was recently recognized for an extraordinary academic achievement in the CMU Division of Science, Mathematics, and Computer Science.

On Tuesday, April 17, 17 students and one faculty member were recognized during the division's Honor Awards, held on CMU's Fayette campus. Excellence was noted in the fields of biology, chemistry, computer science, mathematics, and physics. Four division awards also were presented.

Erikson was one of the 17 students recognized, and was presented the Dr. Neils C. Nielsen Outstanding Chemistry Student Award - a $1,000 cash award given to the outstanding chemistry student of the year .

Erikson is a senior currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in education (middle school - math) at CMU.
