2015 May 14

Christopher Eubanks, a CMU Eagle Radio student, won an award in the annual Missouri State Teachers Association Media Awards competition.

Eubanks and former student, Kadesh Reaves submitted their group project for Eagle Radio titled Violence in Schools, which won top honors in the Radio - General Coverage category of the competition. Eubanks is a criminal justice major from Fayette.

This annual competition recognizes outstanding coverage of education and education related issues. According to MSTA, "nominations are judged on originality, impact, objectivity, timeliness, appeal, and contribution to education."

MSTA grants awards in seven different media categories for this competition, two of which are specific for radio production. The presentation of awards will take place this fall.

The CMU student projects were coordinated through Eagle Radio, the online student radio station at Central Methodist University. Dr. Kristin Cherry, assistant professor of communication, serves as faculty advisor for Eagle Radio.
