Franklin is a Member of the Conservatory Singers

Central Methodist University has announced Danielle Franklin is a member of the Conservatory Singers and will participate in multiple performances throughout the 2014-2015 academic year.

The Chorale and the Conservatory Singers are the two main performing choirs at Central- Methodist University. Both choirs are part of the Swinney Conservatory of Music.

The Chorale is the elite touring vocal group of Swinney Conservatory of Music. The Chorale, directed by Dr. Claude Westfall, comprises 30 students.

The group begins practice prior to the first day of classes and by November sets out on its annual choir tour. The tour runs Thursday, Nov. 20, through the following Tuesday, Nov. 25, this year; the Chorale will perform up to three times a day at schools and churches across the state of Missouri.

In addition to performing on tour, Chorale will have two home concerts, one on November 2 and one on December 7, in conjunction with the Concert Band and the Conservatory Singers.

The Chorale will sing with the Conservatory Singers Sunday morning at Linn Memorial United Methodist Church service during the weekend of Homecoming, October 26.

The Conservatory Singers consists of 62 students and is lead by Dr. Laura Wiebe, assistant professor of music. The Conservatory Singers will have two performances this semester, the first on November 2 in conjunction with CMU's other mixed choir, Chorale, followed by a joint band and choirs Christmas concert on December 7.
