Gebhardt on Residential Life Staff at CMU

2015 Aug 14

Kaitlyn Gebhardt is a member of the Residential Life Staff at Central Methodist University in Fayette, Mo.

Gebhardt is studying music education and is from Columbia. Gebhardt will be an RA in Howard-Payne Hall this year.

The role of the residential life staff, which includes a hall director and multiple assistants (RA's) of all residence halls, is to insure that students have a successful and positive experience in the halls.

Residence life provides students with an integral part of the education that develops well-rounded individuals. Although the responsibilities of the staff are broad, they include helping facilitate personal growth for the students, including emotional, social, and physical well-being.

The RAs are assigned to a floor of 16-60 individuals, depending on the configuration of the residence hall, and each hall has one RD.

"It's exciting to get to work with such a strong group of residential assistants," said Brad Dixon, associate dean of students. "They proved through the interview process that they have great potential to facilitate a supportive and productive atmosphere in the residential halls.

"Not only are these RAs willing to work hard, but also they are good people, and that's what we want representing CMU," he added.
