Gisburne Re-elected as CMU Student Leader

2016 Apr 21

Leadership of the Student Government Association at Central Methodist University will not change in 2016-17, but that doesn't mean Jamie Gisburne and Kayla Herndon plan to maintain the status quo.

Gisburne and Herndon were re-elected recently as SGA president vice president, respectively, by their follow CMU students.

Gisburne is a communications and computer sciences major from Fort Myers. In addition to SGA, Gisburne is a member of the CMU varsity women's golf team, an Ambassador for its Admission department, on the campus student newspaper staff and involved with CMU-affiliated religious organizations.

"Since this will be our second year, we know the lay of the land and are excited to continue our work from this previous year," Gisburne said. "Our main goal for next year is to get students more involved in the different student organizations. When I was a freshman if I didn't get involved I wouldn't be the person that I am today, and I want that for other students."

Mark Stone, CMU assistant dean of student engagement, serves as the SGA advisor.
