Howieson honored at CMU Science, Mathematics, and Computer Science Awards

The Division of Science, Mathematics and Computer Science at Central Methodist University in Fayette, honored its most accomplished students at an awards banquet held on the Fayette campus on April 18.

Rachel Howieson, a Junior physics major from Sedalia, was awarded the Dr. Glenn R. Joyce Memorial Award, given to a junior or senior student majoring in physics, mathematics, or science..

Some of the awards are sponsored by groups or individuals who have had significance to the division through the last century while others are sponsored by campus honors groups and the faculty. Many of the awards carry a monetary stipend or scholarship; others have plaques which will have winners' names added to them.
