2015 May 7

The 40th edition of Inscape, Central Methodist University's magazine of the arts, has been released. The magazine features creative works such as poetry, fiction, non-fiction, plays, paintings, drawings, and photography from over 30 different students and staff.

Mackenzie Hustead won third place in both the poetry category and also in fiction. The title of her poem is "A Touch of Red" and the short story is "Subway Surprise." One other poem by Hustead was also published. Hustead is a JR pre-education major from Edina.

The members of CMU's chapter of Sigma Tau Delta, the International English Honor Society, as well as the faculty members of the English department voted on the best pieces within each category to be honored with the annual Inscape awards.

The editors of this year's edition of Inscape were senior Courtney Warford and junior Kelly Jo Davis. Warford is an education student from Pattonsburg and Davis is an English major from Slater. The faculty advisor for Inscape is Dr. Kavita Hatwalkar.
