Johnson on CMU Student Ambassador Team

2015 Sep 4

Parker Johnson is one of 14 student ambassadors at Central Methodist University in Fayette, Mo.

Johnson is a computer science major from Richmond.

The ambassadors will meet potential students, parents, and guests of the university. They show guest around campus, talk about CMU, and answer questions.

Ambassadors play an important role in one of the most important facets of CMU beyond the classroom - recruitment - according to Paige Sanders, CMU campus visit coordinator. Sanders, along with Dakota Gladbach, admissions representative, oversee the Ambassador Program.

"Ambassadors are among the first people campus visitors typically see when they come to CMU," Sanders said, "they provide tours to prospective students and their families. They also assist CMU with many other events, such as alumni reunions, special events, and other activities."

CMU Ambassadors must be full-time students in good academic standing. In addition, Sanders looks for other attributes when selecting ambassadors, including personality, public speaking ability, dependability, and loyalty to CMU.
