Leathers Recognized At CMU's Division Of Science, Math, And Computer Science Honor Awards

Central Methodist University student Janie Leathers, from Cairo, Mo., was recently recognized for an extraordinary academic achievement in the CMU Division of Science, Mathematics, and Computer Science.

On Tuesday, April 17, 17 students and one faculty member were recognized during the division's Honor Awards, held on CMU's Fayette campus. Excellence was noted in the fields of biology, chemistry, computer science, mathematics, and physics. Four division awards also were presented.

Leathers was one of the 17 students recognized, and was presented both the Beta Beta Beta Biology Award, which is given to an outstanding female in a General Biology class and is delivered through a certificate and cash reward of $50, and the Gamma Sigma Epsilon Excellence Award in General Chemistry, presented to a student with the highest overall average in two semesters of a General Chemistry class.


Leathers is a sophomore currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry at CMU.
