Lyons Honored With Award At CMU Convocation

Central Methodist University student Molly Lyons, from New Franklin, Mo., was honored with an academic award during CMU's Opening Convocation ceremony, which took place on Thursday, Aug. 24 at CMU's main campus in Fayette.

This event welcomes all students, especially new freshmen, to campus. It also honors several students and a professor who have shown outstanding work from the previous year.

Lyons was awarded the Demaree Prize. This honor is given to the freshman student having the highest scholastic average from the prior year.

Lyons, a sophomore, is an English major at CMU.
