Memic honored at CMU Science, Mathematics, and Computer Science Awards

The Division of Science, Mathematics and Computer Science at Central Methodist University in Fayette, honored its most accomplished students at an awards banquet held on the Fayette campus on April 18.

Nidal Memic, a Senior computer science and business major from Sarajevo, was awarded the Chester E. Hanson Outstanding Senior Computer Science Award. It is given to an outstanding senior computer science student in honor of long time computer science and mathematics professor Chester Hanson. He taught at Central 1963 - 1993.

Some of the awards are sponsored by groups or individuals who have had significance to the division through the last century while others are sponsored by campus honors groups and the faculty. Many of the awards carry a monetary stipend or scholarship; others have plaques which will have winners' names added to them.
