Nelson Places At KCNATS Competition

Central Methodist University student McKenna Nelson, from Macon, Mo., won second in the musical theatre upper division at the recent Kansas City National Association of Teachers of Singing (KCNATS) competition.

Nelson is from the studios of Dr. Susan Quigley-Duggan, CMU associate professor of voice and opera, and Dr. Laura Wiebe, CMU assistant professor of music, at the Swinney Conservatory of Music at CMU.

Accompanying Nelson were collaborative pianists Mary Jane Nance and Dr. Barb Berwin, CMU professor of music.

Nelson is a junior currently pursuing a Bachelor of Education and Music Education degree at CMU.
