Nidal Memic Named CMU Resident Hall Assistant

2016 Aug 15

Nidal Memic, a senior at Central Methodist University, has been named a Resident Hall Assistant for the 2016-17 collegiate year.

Resident Hall assistants are responsible for helping facilitate safety and personal growth for students, which can involve providing emotional, social and physical support.

According to Associate Dean of Students Bradley J. Dixon, RAs are available to aid students with anything from unlocking doors to conversations about home sickness. "I am excited for this class of RAs because we have a strong group of leaders that can handle the rigors of residential life," Dixon said. "They have all shown dedication to CMU, and want to provide a safe, comfortable living environment for our students."

Memic has been assigned to Burford Hall, which provided housing for over 100 male students. It was opened in 1960, and is named in honor of Dr. Cyrus E. Burford, chairman of the CMU Board of Curators for many years. .

Memic is from Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegowina and is a Computer Science and Business major at CMU.
