2015 Apr 13

Devin Pearson received honorable mention for his audio production project at the annual MBEA College Media Awards Competition.

Pearson is a Communication Studies major from Jacksonville.

The Central Methodist University Eagle Radio students dove into this contest for the first time this year though the Missouri Broadcast Educators Association. Three students received honorable mention for their audio production projects.

Devin Pearson received honorable mention in the audio category of documentaries and public affairs for his piece titled Religion and Government. Jamie Gisburne and Jonathan Schwab also received honorable mention for their team project in the audio news show category for their piece titled Ebola in Schools.

MBEA hosts the contest each year to allow Missouri's college students to compete and showcase their best work. The contest includes categories across several different types of media including video, audio, multimedia, and script. CMU joined MBEA in 2014 allowing this to be the first year for Eagle Radio students to compete.

The CMU student projects were coordinated through Eagle Radio, the online student radio station at Central Methodist University. Dr. Kristin Cherry, assistant professor of communication, serves as faculty advisor for Eagle Radio.
