Pelley to Lead Music Festival Event at CMU

2015 Feb 18

Ann Marie Pelley and Robert Mobley have the job of organizing and running the annual Music Festival at Central Methodist University. The festival will take place on Friday, February 27.

Pelley is a Music Education major from St Peters.

Approximately 2,500 students are anticipated from more than 50 Missouri high schools and middle schools. As in the past, to handle the numbers, Swinney Conservatory of Music will have students rotate through the festival all day, by districts and types of competition. Groups will include bands, choirs, music ensembles, and soloists.

Individuals and groups do not compete against each other. Instead they strive for top scores on a I-to-IV scale. Many are testing themselves prior to district and state competitions.

Observers are welcome if they are inside and seated in a timely manner. No one is admitted during a performance.

During the day of the Festival, no parking is allowed on Church Street from Lucky St. to Elm St. to allow the buses to pull in and disburse or pick up students.
