Peper Selected As CMU Ambassador

2016 Aug 23

Abigail Peper, a senior at CMU from Jefferson City, Mo., has been selected as one of 12 student ambassadors for the 2016-17 collegiate year. She is currently pursing a Bachelor of Science in Religion and Church Leadership degree at CMU. When potential students take an interest in Central Methodist University, the odds are very high their decision will be influenced after crossing paths with student ambassadors. A student ambassador is chosen by his or her institution as a diplomat who is a representative to prospective students and their parents. Faculty and staff who believe a student possesses skills of leadership often refer that student for the opportunity to become an ambassador, according to Dakota Gladbach, CMU admission counselor. "We look for bright, enthusiastic, proud and honest people to join our program," Gladbach said. The CMU ambassadors play a crucial role in the university's recruitment process, and hold a very important job on campus, according to Gladbach. "Visiting families put their trust into these students, and so does CMU," he said. Peper's duties include giving prospective students and their families an overall understanding of how the CMU campus operates, providing information about student experiences, and answering questions.
