Phillips is Part of CMU Little Theatre One-Acts

2015 Dec 7

Lyndsey Phillips is the director of one of four one-act plays that will be performed in the Little Theatre on the campus of Central Methodist University in Fayette, Mo. Phillips is the director for "The Apollo of Bellac," by French playwright Jean Giraudoux.

"The Apollo of Bellac" tells the story of a shy young lady looking for a job. While waiting for an interview, a nondescript homeless man tells her the secret of success—to tell every man she wants that he's as handsome as the statue of the Apollo of Bellac (which doesn't exist). She soon realizes it may even work a little too well. She has as many men as she wants, including the handsome, single chairman of the board.

Students majoring in Central Methodist University's theatre program direct a one-act play as part of their degree requirements. Performances will be held on Thursday, Dec. 10, at 8:30 p.m. and Friday, Dec. 11, beginning at 7:30 p.m.

Phillips is a pre-education major from Bloomsdale.
