Raphael Norton Named CMU Resident Hall Assistant

2016 Aug 15

Raphael Norton, a junior at Central Methodist University, has been named a Resident Hall Assistant for the 2016-17 collegiate year.

Resident Hall assistants are responsible for helping facilitate safety and personal growth for students, which can involve providing emotional, social and physical support.

According to Associate Dean of Students Bradley J. Dixon, RAs are available to aid students with anything from unlocking doors to conversations about home sickness. "I am excited for this class of RAs because we have a strong group of leaders that can handle the rigors of residential life," Dixon said. "They have all shown dedication to CMU, and want to provide a safe, comfortable living environment for our students."

Norton has been assigned to Woodward Hall, which provides rooms for approximately 120 men. It opened in 1964, and is named in recognition of Dr. Ralph Woodward, president of CMU from 1950-1970..

Norton is from Kansas City, Mo. and is a Computer Science major at CMU.
