Roy To Participate In CMU Musical

2016 Oct 25

Central Methodist University student Breilly Roy, from Trenton, Mo. , will be participating in the CMU Little Theatre's presentation of You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown.

Roy, a CMU junior currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology degree, will play Sally.

The musical's story deals with Charlie Brown pondering what makes a good man. He spends most of the play working his way through that concept, while his friends deal with their own concerns and insecurities. During the action, Charlie lacks the courage to go sit with "the little red-haired girl" for whom he always has a crush.

The play ends when Charlie Brown finds a pencil on the ground that belongs to "the little red-haired girl." As she clearly chews on her pencils, he realizes she isn't perfect either! He decides that today has been a very happy day all around, and all his friends pick up his enthusiasm for life. He realizes that being a "good man" means trying one's best and making the most of what one has been given.

The play will run Nov. 9 - 13, including three daytime presentations for local schools. The cost is $8 for general admission, $5 for CMU faculty and staff, and free for CMU students with identification.
