Salva honored at CMU Science, Mathematics, and Computer Science Awards

2016 Apr 21

The Division of Science, Mathematics and Computer Science at Central Methodist University in Fayette, honored its most accomplished students at an awards banquet held on the Fayette campus on April 18.

Alexandria Salva, a Senior biology major from Sugar Creek, was awarded the Jeff Wilcox "Raising the Bar Award." It is supported by the friends and family of student Jeff Wilcox who "raised the bar" no matter what he was doing while a student at Central Methodist. He graduated in 1992, went into engineering, but died in 2005.

Some of the awards are sponsored by groups or individuals who have had significance to the division through the last century while others are sponsored by campus honors groups and the faculty. Many of the awards carry a monetary stipend or scholarship; others have plaques which will have winners' names added to them.
