Samantha Bond Named CMU Resident Hall Assistant

2016 Aug 15

Samantha Bond, a junior at Central Methodist University, has been named a Resident Hall Assistant for the 2016-17 collegiate year.

Resident Hall assistants are responsible for helping facilitate safety and personal growth for students, which can involve providing emotional, social and physical support.

According to Associate Dean of Students Bradley J. Dixon, RAs are available to aid students with anything from unlocking doors to conversations about home sickness. "I am excited for this class of RAs because we have a strong group of leaders that can handle the rigors of residential life," Dixon said. "They have all shown dedication to CMU, and want to provide a safe, comfortable living environment for our students."

Bond has been assigned to McMurry Hall, which is a co-ed residence hall, housing nearly 200 students. It was built in 1927 and is named in honor of Bishop W.F. McMurry, president of CMU from 1924-1930. It was renovated in 2001-2002, and the garden level was renovated in 2011..

Bond is from Madison, Kan. and is a Elementary Education major at CMU.
