Terry Took Part in a CMU Little Theatre Production

2015 Apr 28

Daniel Terry took part in the Little Theatre production of Moon Over Buffalo on the campus of Central Methodist University in Fayette, Mo.

Terry was a member of the shop crew and lighting design team. Terry is a Music Education major from Saint Charles.

Moon over Buffalo, written in 1995 by Ken Ludwig, centers around a couple, George and Charlotte Hay, who are actors starring in rotating plays, Cyrano de Bergerac and Private Lives. Charlotte has grandiose dreams of becoming a film star while George prefers live theatre. When George's affair with an actress is exposed, his wife decides to run away with a lawyer, Richard.

George turns to alcohol in his despair. However, when the great film director Frank Capra calls and wants to see their performance to consider placing them in a major film, despondency turns to euphoria. Everyone goes on the hunt to find George. They finally find him totally soused, and try to prep him for Private Lives, the play Capra intends to see that afternoon.

Unfortunately, inebriated George prefers Cyrano and dresses for that role. Their play goes downhill from there, seemingly sealing their sad fate; and at the same time providing many laughs for the audience of Moon over Buffalo. However, as with most comedies, the happy ending comes at last for all concerned.
