Warford is an Editor for Inscape at CMU

2016 Feb 11

Courtney Warford is one of two editors for Inscape, Central Methodist University's magazine of the arts.

The editors have finished collecting submissions and are ready to start assembling the 41st edition of Inscape. The magazine features creative work from students, faculty, and staff of CMU in addition to the high school student winners of the Young Writers Day competition held last fall.

Seniors Courtney Warford and Danielle Franklin are leading the way as the editors for this edition. Warford is an English major from Pattonsburg, and Franklin is an English major from Oak Grove. Dr. Kavita Hatwalkar, assistant professor of English, is faculty advisor.

Inscape is an annual publication administered by CMU's Mu Lambda chapter of Sigma Tau Delta, the international English honor society. It is sponsored by the Student Government Association.

The magazine features a compilation of poetry, short fiction, creative nonfiction, plays, art, and photography. Each category will honor first, second, and third place winners who are voted upon by the CMU Sigma Tau Delta members and the English department faculty.

The inclusion of other submissions is decided by the editors. Franklin said "every year we get a chance to see what kind of amazing talent lies within the students and faculty on campus. I cannot wait to see what talent emerges this year."

This year's edition will be released on April 28 and copies will be available on campus in the Smiley Library. More information about contest winners and those being published will be announced after the magazine has been released.
